New biography! Suzanne Kirk

Suzanne’s six year international career as a sculler and rower saw her represent GB at junior, under-23 and senior level.

A member of Tideway Scullers as an adult, she won the first British women’s Under-23 gold medal* in the double sculls with Adrienne Grimsditch at the Match des Seniors in 1990. She competed at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992 where she was one of four rowers who were switched into a coxless four just weeks before the Olypic regatta started, after racing in the eight all season until then.

*In 1986 Sue Clark and Sam Wensley had awarded the gold medal for the women’s pairs at the Match des Seniors after the winning crew was disqualified for being over-age in the two-boat straight final.
